For all my friends out east – brrrrr! It’s getting cold out there and your skin is probably freaking out. I have the same problem whenever the weather changes that I wanted to share with you a few of my winter beauty favourites:
Josie Maran 100 Percent Pure Argan Oil – When my skin is really messed up from airplanes, travel, changing altitudes or cold air – I always start layering on the argan oil. Josie Maran’s is 100% pure like the name suggests, so there are no fillers or any other crap. The best way to wear it is to apply it at night before you go to bed and then slather your favourite night cream on top of it. I treat it like a serum and it’s part of my winter beauty routine.
Griffin Remedy Body Wash – My skin has been flakier lately and I like to give it a good scrub with a body brush and a gentle and natural body wash. I came across Griffin Remedy at Whole Foods and I fell in love with the scent of their Omega 3 Grapefruit Creamy Body Wash. The omega3 oils feel oh-so-good on my skin, are extremely moisturizing and the product is not loaded up with harsh chemicals or sulfates. Squeeze the wash on to your favourite body brush and exfoliate any dry and flaky winter skin!
Schwarzkopf Bonacure Hairtherapy Repair Rescue – Are your ends looking dry? The best thing to do is to book a haircut, the next best thing would be to use this hair rescue balm to seal your ends. I used about a dime-size amount and worked the product into my ends after styling. My curls immediately looked bouncier and healthier. It’s a quick-fix for when you’re in-between salon visits.
Don’t Call Me Ma’am Skincare Collection – I love that Don’t Call Me Ma’am does not contain any parabens, harsh sulfates or chemicals and the packaging is 100% recyclable. The Wash It Away Everyday Cleanser ($25) contains sunflower and avocado oils and goes on thick and creamy.
My face soaked up all the hydrating oils! I give my skin a spritz of their In Balance Everyday Toner ($25) for a quick re-balancing, and finished off with their Face Love Everyday Moisturizer ($35) with sunflower seed oil, jojoba oil, aloe vera and vitamin E. My skin looked a lot softer and hydrated after following this regimen every night.
La Roche-Posay Nutritic Intense Riche – This rich cream from La Roche-Posay glides on thick but absorbs quite quickly as a face cream. The ultra nourishing formula is what I’m switching to with the cold, dry air settling in for winter. I use this as a day cream and wear it under make-up and it isn’t too oily for my face. Because the cream is so rich, you don’t need to use a lot to get good coverage, which justifies the higher price point.
