For those of you who may have been reading my blog for awhile, you’ll notice how I slowly made the transition from dog owner to full on DOG MOM.
I’ve become one of those people and I ain’t ashamed! We even bought a bike trailer to tow our pup in on our long bike rides. Which is why I wanted to tell you all about The Friends For Life! Walk happening across Ontario, Canada at the end of September and how my pup makes such a difference to me.
For a long time, it was just Paul and I.
Then BINGO came along…
We thought we were just signing up for a two week foster program and lo and behold – just a couple days later we adopted our cuddly, lovebug of a dog. What they don’t tell you is that 1 in 2 fosters end up as an adoption!
Knowing that BINGO was an abandoned dog found as a stray roaming the streets (he still gets excited when he sees a dumpster!), my heart cries for all the other animals that are also abandoned or abused.
The Ontario SPCA does some incredibly work fighting animal cruelty and work towards animal welfare. The Friends For Life! Walk is their big annual walk happening the weekend of September 24 + 25 with walk locations all across Ontario.
You don’t need a pet to participate! The walk welcomes all animal lovers. It’s a fun way to spend a day out with family members and there’s a complimentary lunch, pet vendors marketplace with cool products, live music, activities for the kids and more.
There’s still lots of time to still sign-up! Register and raise $50 online before September 15th and you’ll be entered to WIN a Keurig. Raise $150 online before September 26th and you’ll be entered to WIN a Dyson vacuum. It’s a great way to give back!
