I’ve been hanging out in Toronto, Canada for the last 2.5 months and it’s been a full two years since my last visit here. There are so many people and things that I’ve missed and I wanted to shed a spotlight on some great brands and stores that I love in Canada.
If you’re planning a trip here or just looking to discover some new favourites – these are the places I always make a point of stopping in at when I’m back for a visit.
Yes, there are lots of little boutiques I love to shop – but I wanted this post to focus on larger chains that you can find in major cities across Canada. Whether you are visiting Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary or elsewhere.
Here’s my shopping list! (more…)

During my seven-year career as a DJ, I had the chance to work and attend 400+ weddings all over Toronto and the GTA. I’m always paying close attention to the food, service and how well I am treated (even as a staff member – these are the people who will sing your praises).
A few of them stand out in my mind, so I’m sharing my most favourite and unique wedding venues in Toronto as an industry-insider:
We are back in Toronto for a little visit and were recently invited by Hotel Le Germain for an overnight stay at their Mercer Street location. Staying with our parents in the ‘burbs has been great, but it was nice to actually be in the city and avoid all the crazy traffic in and out of it. How did Toronto get so busy?
Our little mini-staycation was EXACTLY what we needed. The location was perfect for seeing friends and family. I also booked a few meetings that day and was able to use Victor Restaurant as a meet-up spot. (more…)
Trying to avoid cooking a big feast on Christmas day? Would you prefer going out with family and leaving the grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning to someone else? Here are 5 places for Christmas Dinner in Toronto for 2017:
The fancy Cafe Boulud inside The Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto will be serving up a three-course prix-fixe menu for $107. Make sure to book early as spots will fill up quick. The main course includes an option of turkey, scallops, venison, fish or pasta. See more from our visit! (more…)
I am heading back to Toronto for the holidays!
It will be my first Christmas at home with my parents in close to four years, so I’m super excited to do ALL the holiday things in the city. Here’s what’s on my radar:
This is one of my all-time ‘get in the holiday spirit’ Christmas market. I love going at night and seeing all the lights twinkle at this market in The Distillery District. There are lots of warm beverages and refreshments for sale to keep you warm. If it gets too chilly, pop into a gallery to see some local art or into a restaurant for a glass of wine.
It’s worth a second visit during the day if you can swing it! The vibe is more family-like with lots of fun photo ops. Don’t forget to pop into all the local shops and visit the booths for a little Christmas shopping.

I’ll be back in Toronto next month for a little visit and put together my round-up of a few of the fun events happening in the city for fall. Here are my top five picks:
This fun event is back at Exhibition Place on September 30th + October 1st, running from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and 4 PM on Sunday.
Look for antique finds for your apartment and one-of-a-kind vintage and retro clothing at this annual show. It’s definitely a fun way to spend and afternoon and have a sift around. You never know what you’re going to find!
