The weather has been getting cooler and I’m craving all sorts of comfort food these days.
We have a super fancy old-school steakhouse in Downtown Portland that’s great for date nights, celebrations or when our parents are in town. Ringside Steakhouse Uptown on W. Burnside has been a Portland fixture for the last 73 years. (more…)
I survived my first FEAST!
What is it that I love about Portland? I love that it’s a city full of people like me who LOVE food and that’s what FEAST is all about. I was lucky to be granted a Media Pass this year and attended the Opening Night Party, The Sandwich Invitational and The Grand Tasting.
Here are the best things I ate from my weekend at FEAST: (more…)
Brunch is no joke here in Portland. We take our weekend breakfast rituals very seriously and by-product are some of the best brunches you will eat in the country. I was recently invited to Accanto in SE Portland to try out their brunch menu. It absolutely did not disappoint.
We started off with their doughy and moist Ricotta Donuts ($6) and all that cheese does make a difference. They were soft to bite with the texture of a light cake donut. It’s served up with lemon curd for dipping and generous sprinkle of powdered sugard.
Definitely order these to start with a nice hot cup of coffee. It took a lot of restraint not to wolf all of these down while waiting for our main. (more…)
Updated: Just got the chance to go back and try their weekend dim sum brunch menu + cart service. Added a few new photos to this post!
One of my new favourite places for ramen is most definitely over at Boke Bowl.
If you’re planning a trip out to Portland, Oregon – you have to bookmark this place on your list of places to visit. The noodles here are the standout star for me. Incredibly chewy with a nice thickness to it – soaking in a slow-simmered pork broth.
Boke Bowl also does a weekend dim sum menu that features two carts – a tall steam cart and one for fried food. It’s perfect because you can just point and choose at what you want as their take on dim sum is modern and unique. It was really neat to try a twist on all the dim sum dishes I’ve been eating all these years. Here’s what we ordered: (more…)
Got Olympic fever but no cable?
Never fear! Lechon, a South American restaurant in Portland has already thought of solving this for you. Executive Chef Jaco Smith will be serving up a very special “What the Chef is Eating” Brazilian-inspired happy hour tapas menu.
This chic little restaurant is located right across the street from Portland’s gorgeous waterfront and is a great place to stop after a bike ride or walk along the water. There’s also a small patio outside that looked to be dog-friendly as well! Here’s what I sampled:
Shrimp Ceviche with Pineapple (above) is the perfect way to cool off on a hot summer day. Especially when paired with one of their cocktail specials. I love the sweet pineapple paired with the savoury shrimp and a bit of foam on top for flavour. It was beautifully presented. (more…)
If there’s one thing Portlanders love – it’s brunch.
So when Ringside Grill in NE Portland invited us to check out their new brunch menu, we hopped in an Uber and headed about 15 minutes away from downtown to their clubhouse dining room attached to the Glendoveer Golf Course.
Drinks – You can’t go wrong with a $5 Mimosa with a choice of orange, grapefruit or passionfruit puree on a Sunday Funday. A cold spicy Bloody Mary also hit the spot for $8. It’s the perfect way to enjoy the sunshine on their patio and soak up the golf course view. (more…)
