Toronto’s artisanal pizza craze doesn’t look like it’s slowing down anytime soon.
New establishments offering time-honoured crispy and doughy pies seem to be popping up faster than I can keep up with. No complaints here though; in the name of the love of pizza, I will gladly scour the city to sample every new pie shop. (more…)

How do you like to #MODIFRY your Superfries?
I like to give my fries a bit of an upgrade with ingredients I can add on myself at home. It’s perfect for those Friday nights in front of the TV or when you’re hosting friends and family on game day. It’s easy to amp up your Superfries from everyday side dish with a gourmet twist.
Here are a few of my favourite ways to #MODIFRY my McCain Superfries and to take them to the next level!
Garlic Parmesan Fries

My favourite pizza in Toronto is Pizzeria Libretto. With one location on the east side of town (Danforth), and another on the west (Ossington), we can now clap our hands for the opening of a more central location at 155 University Avenue (just north of King Street). I have been to the other two locations, but was excited to try this new financial district spot.
A mix of rustic and modern fills the restaurant with unique hanging light fixtures along with wooden and steel bar stools. Subway tiled walls and rich brown leather booths give the space a nice classic touch. The restaurant felt very bright and spacious thanks to the 20-foot ceilings and wide windows.
Let’s get to the food, since it is just too delicious to spare you any longer. Pizzeria Libretto uses fresh and simple ingredients, such as San Marzano tomatoes and Fiore di Latte mozzarella, which are brought in daily. The dough is made with authentic Italian doppio zero flour. Each pizza is cooked for 90 seconds in a 900 degree oven which is hand built by a third generation pizza oven maker in Naples. (more…)
Looking for a thoughtful + edible Valentine’s Day gift idea?
Do something sweet and simple and make him a heart-shaped pizza! You’ll need a pair of sharp scissors to cut out the heart-shaped salami. Just fold the circles in half and cut as you did back in elementary school. For the dough, form a round pizza shape and use your pizza cutter to cut away at the excess dough to create a heart.
Top with store-bought pizza sauce, mozzarella cheese and fresh basil.
During my recent drive on Route 66 from Toronto to Los Angeles we made a stop at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North. As soon as I stepped foot in my hotel room, I was nearly in heaven. I called the front desk right away and extended my stay – one night wasn’t going to cut it.
The space really inspires you to relax, so my husband and I decided to take a little workcation here, enjoying the sun and relaxing by the pool after the stress of moving and driving across the country. We also got a great rate because it was the off-season that it was too hard to resist. (more…)
