Fall is finally here!
Which means it’s a great time to head out to the Oregon coast. You’ll find that things have slowed down and there aren’t as many tourists as there are in the summer months. Paul, BINGO and I made our very first trip to Seaside, Oregon earlier this year and had a chance to check out the newly-renovated Ashore Hotel.
The Ashore Hotel is an awesome retro motel that went through A LOT of modern upgrades to make this a hip little outpost by the sea. We loved it because it was dog-friendly and we could have our pup with us. BINGO loves the beach, so it would super made if he didn’t get to come along with us. (more…)

What is it that I love about Portland? I love that it’s a city full of people like me who LOVE food and that’s what FEAST is all about. I was lucky to be granted a Media Pass this year and attended the Opening Night Party, The Sandwich Invitational and The Grand Tasting.
Here are the best things I ate from my weekend at FEAST: (more…)

We bought a beach house last month and construction is moving along quickly! On our last visit the foundation was poured, the house had been framed, the plumbing was put in and we did our electrical walk through to figure out where all the lights and switches will go.
We’ve had a great experience thanks to the amazing team at Olivia Beach. I know we are spoiled, because with any other builder – it is rare to be allowed this much customization.
I made some decisions on the design of our main floor powder room already.
My next project? (more…)
Brunch is no joke here in Portland. We take our weekend breakfast rituals very seriously and by-product are some of the best brunches you will eat in the country. I was recently invited to Accanto in SE Portland to try out their brunch menu. It absolutely did not disappoint.
We started off with their doughy and moist Ricotta Donuts ($6) and all that cheese does make a difference. They were soft to bite with the texture of a light cake donut. It’s served up with lemon curd for dipping and generous sprinkle of powdered sugard.
Definitely order these to start with a nice hot cup of coffee. It took a lot of restraint not to wolf all of these down while waiting for our main. (more…)
