How To Create A Delicious Vegan Cheese Board

I love creating epic cheese platters.

So when my friend Jenni suggested we host a baby shower (see my fave gift ideas) for our friend Lindsay (who is vegan), I offered to do all the food. Now I’ve never catered a vegan party before – but I love eating healthy and am definitely interested in cooking more vegan meals.

So a vegan cheese platter? It’s not as intimidating as you think. Luckily, Lindsay sent me a list of her favourite cheeses that I easily paired with fruit and crackers. Here’s what I suggest for your own vegan cheese platter: (more…)

The holidays are finally here!

After an epic kick-off with Thanksgiving weekend, I’m finally getting into the Christmas spirit. We bought a HUGE tree yesterday that we are going to spend tonight decorating.

Our Canadian friends including Ms. Megan Joy joined us for an expat Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday night and I created this Holiday Charcuterie Meat + Cheese Platter as an appetizer while Paul and I finished cooking.

Warm Cheddar Scones

These warm cheddar scones are possibly the way to my heart.

I met Susan Holding of The Little French Bakery at Alt Summit. We were cooking chicken together with Kelsey Nixon and shared a stove! Susan posted this wonderful recipe recently for Cheddar Scones and I just had to share it with you. A serious upgrade from what I remember from my Red Lobster-loving days.

It’s perfect for pairing with a chowder, soup or stew and perfect comfort food for this cool fall weather. You can also whip ’em up for weekend brunch and serve with eggs. I’ve never tried making scones from scratch before – maybe once, but I probably used a mix. I’m most impressed with how easy it really is.

Thank you Susan for sharing your recipe with me!
