Blitz Facial Bar has opened in Toronto!
A day at the spa is any woman’s dream. Relaxing all day in the most serene environment is a wonderful treat. However, we may not have time for such an elaborate experience. Sometimes, it is nice to be pampered even if you don’t have a ton of time and money to spare.

Blitz Facial Bar, from the owners of Body Blitz, have recently opened two locations in Toronto, 1133 Queen Street East (Leslieville) and 803 Queen Street West (Trinity Bellwoods). The concept features express facials, without sacrificing quality. Don’t expect your typical spa with private rooms, robes and Jacuzzis, but do still expect a relaxing, high-quality experience.
Each facial is 30 minutes (with the exception of one), plus the option to customize with add-on boosters for $10. It is the perfect chance to keep your skin looking radiant without spending hours in a spa and emptying your wallet. Blitz Facial Bar also offers a treatment for men, since we all know men can enjoy a little pampering now and then! (more…)
I’m sharing a blast from the past today. It’s a post I’ve published before – but totally still useful in keeping busy over the cold and long winter months for my friends who don’t live somewhere hot.
Have you been hibernating? When it’s dark at 5 o’clock and your toes are freezing, the last thing you want to do is hang outside all day. So here are my suggestions for fun activities to do inside:
1) Go for Indian Food – The hot, hot heat of spicy Indian flavours will keep the fires warm, not to mention your sinuses clear. Round up your besties and make it a girls night out. The spices in curry are full of antioxidants and good for you. Finish your meal off with a refreshing and healthy mango lassi – a yogurt based smoothie. Try my recipe at home for a delicious Cauliflower + Chickpea Curry.
I love Body Blitz Spa.
When it’s cold and dreary in Toronto, one of my favourite places to recharge is Body Blitz Spa on Adelaide Street West. The original location has become so popular that a second location on King Street East is now open.
The Therapeutic Waters Pass will set you up for an afternoon of relaxation. I usually start with a warm shower and then a nice long soak in their Warm Dead Sea Salt Water Pool, letting the hydrotherapy jets melt away all my stress. Once you have rinsed off poolside, take a plunge in the Hot Epsom Pool. If you get too hot, you can always dip a toe into their Cold Plunge Pool which helps tighten pores. I can plunge my whole body in for about five seconds and that’s it – I’m a wimp. (more…)
