From the day we adopted our pup BINGO over two years ago – he was our little crazed terrier. We were pretty sure he was a Jack Russell Terrier mix of some sort because he’s so freaking smart, is high energy and just needs a lot of attention.
Paul and I always told people he was a terrier mix of some sort but we weren’t really sure what else he could be. So I reached out to the nice people at embark to ask if I could review one of their Dog DNA Tests to learn more about BINGO’s exact breed and more about his health.
Well, the results are in! (more…)

It’s crazy to believe that we adopted BINGO just over 18 months ago!
Paul and I couldn’t imagine life without him or with any other dog for that matter. We’ve made a lot of progress with his separation anxiety, but we’ve also taken a couple steps back when we picked up and moved from Los Angeles to Portland.
We love our rescue pup BINGO!
He’s a shy little guy who came to us with a lot of shelter stress after being abandoned by his family. We thought he was just going to be our foster dog, but he adopted us instantly! Neither Paul and I expected this, because he was labelled as aggressive when we decided to foster him.
We couldn’t believe how quickly he bonded with us and we fell in love quickly and adopted him pretty fast after that.

The holidays are just around the corner and I wanted to send out a little reminder on pet safety tips to keep your cat or dog happy and healthy this holiday season! I only recently adopted my dog BINGO a year and a half ago and never owned a dog before then. I didn’t realize how much there was still for me to learn and all the things I didn’t know.
Of course, these are all tips and tricks I picked up as a pet owner and I’m not a licensed medical professional. So do check with your vet for more information!
My 5 pet safety tips for the holidays: (more…)
When we first adopted our pup BINGO just over a year ago, we had no idea how much he would change our lives. Paul says he’s way less stressed because he gets outside and now walks over 10,000+ steps a day. I love having BINGO around as my little buddy at work and we’ve met SO many new people in our neighborhood just by walking our dog.
The one thing I’m trying to keep up with is all the hair and pet smells that come with having an adorable pooch. Here are my tips and tricks to keep your house looking and feeling clean when you have a dog: (more…)
For those of you who may have been reading my blog for awhile, you’ll notice how I slowly made the transition from dog owner to full on DOG MOM.
I’ve become one of those people and I ain’t ashamed! We even bought a bike trailer to tow our pup in on our long bike rides. Which is why I wanted to tell you all about The Friends For Life! Walk happening across Ontario, Canada at the end of September and how my pup makes such a difference to me.
For a long time, it was just Paul and I. (more…)
Hello from Portland!
I just wanted to share a little life update with you as we get settled in after our second week living in Portland, Oregon! If you’ve moved as much as I have – you’ll know the first two weeks in a new place involves constant trips to Ikea, Target and every other home furnishing store you can think of.
It’s not like we didn’t already have a ton of stuff to begin with. (more…)
