I can’t believe it’s 2017! I wanted to share with you a few of my January beauty favorites to help keep your skin feeling soft and hydrated in the New Year. Here’s what I’m loving right now:
Do you have a hard time getting up in the morning – especially when its cold and dark outside? Give your body a jolt with this handmade bar of coffee soap made with coconut oil and ground coffee beans. The coffee also does a great job of exfoliating dry, flaky skin and it smells amazing! Definitely one of my top January beauty products. (more…)
It’s been awhile since my last beauty round-up, but I’ve been testing a whole slew of beauty products that I’ve fallen in love with. I paid $10 for that Sephora ‘prime’ service and it’s started an addiction!
Here are a couple fave beauty products I definitely recommend:
1) Caudalie Favorites Kit
I was on the hunt for a new micellar cleanser, when I came across this Caudalie Favorites Value Kit which included the cleanser and a bunch of other skincare products. I love the little trial/travel sizes and it made me a believer of their micellar cleanser and the Vinosource Moisturizing Sorbet – I would buy the full-size of both. The cleanser is super gentle and my skin sucked up every last bit of the gel-like sorbet.
It was also really nice working within one system and letting the products compliment each other. For $39 – this is an amazing deal and would make a great Christmas gift! (more…)

Does your skin feel dry coming out of the winter season?
I usually switch to a more intense body moisturizer like Bio-Oil in the winter months to help combat the effects of the dry winter air or too much time on airplanes. There are some days when I’m just running late or too exhausted (or lazy) to layer on multiple beauty products to keep my skin looking great. (more…)
What are your favourites beauty splurges?
As someone who grew up buying all sorts of drugstore make-up for under $10, I sometimes find it difficult to spend that little bit extra on higher-end beauty splurges for my make-up bag.
I definitely think there are things WORTH saving money on, but then there are just a few things I think are total beauty splurges that are worth investing into. The higher quality product sometimes justifies the cost. Here are my top 5 beauty worth-it beauty splurges for your make-up bag:
1. The IT Sponge
I can’t believe I spent $25 on a make-up sponge, but honestly it makes my foundation look flawless compared to the strokes of a foundation brush. The Beauty Blender is a pointy sponge you soak in water, dip in your make-up and bounce all over your skin for that ‘airbrushed’ look.
I love it because it makes my foundation go on evenly and looks quite natural. My sponge came with a mini solid soap to wash with daily. Just make sure to replace it every 3-6 months depending on how ofter you use it. (more…)
It’s December already!
Which means Christmas is almost near and I have an all-new round-up of December beauty favourites to light up the holidays. Here are the best things to come across my desk this month:
Stocking Stuffers from L’Occitane – I am loving the Hugs & Kisses Duo featuring their L’Occitane’s classic hand cream and lip balm. Perfect for dry winter skin and comes in a festive ornament style gift box. I’ve also been keeping the intoxicating Jasmin Immortelle Neroli Hand Cream on my nighstand, it also slips easily into a stocking – or my purse!
Next up were the Pivoine Sublime Tinted Lip Balms with peony extract are an awesome stocking stuffer. They come in a range of rose colours for a natural enhanced look on your lips, without that heavy feel of lipstick. I also love that the lip balms contain SPF 25 and provide 8-hours of hydration.
I found the colours deep enough without being too dramatic and sheer enough for a casual day look. My lips felt soft and I love that I didn’t have to layer it on top of my sunscreen either. (more…)
It’s a new month!
Which means a round-up of my November beauty favourites. Here are the best things that came across my desk this month that I think are worth sharing:
Eyeshadow Palette – If you’re looking to add an eyeshadow palette to your collection that covers all your bases, check out Pur Minerals Secret Crush which features 8 decadent colours made with minerals. I love the progression from light to dark and the mix of shimmer to dramatic. The palette is great for blending and for taking your look from day to night. Long-lasting and with good pigmentation.
