Bargain hunters rejoice!
Saks Off 5th opened a brand new location in Beverly Hills earlier this month. The luxury disount retailer to sister store, Saks Fifth Avenue has brought its hipper, edgier urban-style store to LA. The store design includes rolling racks and pink neon signage.
Traditionally, Saks Off 5th stores are in far-flung locations or in outlet malls at the edge of town. This is the second urban concept of its kind (following in the footsteps of San Francisco) and they are planning more location-friendly outlets in 2016 throughout major cities in Canada and the US.
The Real Deal on the Deals – I stopped by on opening day and spotted a few of my favourites like Alternative, Wildfox, Free People, Vince, Marc by Marc Jacobs and an entire rack of Rebecca Minkoff purses. I gotta say the selection was actually pretty pumping that I would definitely return again. They receive new stock weekly.
A little shopping tidbit for you. Only 10% of the inventory at Saks Off 5th is actually clearance product from high-end Saks. The majority of it is purchased by dedicated buyers that stock Saks Off 5th exclusively, leveraging off their existing relationships to get better prices.
Saks Off 5th in Beverly Hills also carries vintage luxury handbags
Overall, I was pretty impressed with the layout, selection and luxury brands they were carrying at Saks Off 5th. If you’re planning on trying stuff on – head to the larger, unisex fitting rooms on the second floor. There are only three fitting rooms on the first floor and quite the line-up during my visit. The second floor also features a ton of menswear including designer suits along with shoes and handbags.
The store is located inside The Beverly Connection – just across the street from the Beverly Center. I’m definitely going to be adding Saks Off 5th into my shopping mix now that it’s so close!
