Do you know of The Man Repeller?

She’s the girl who launched a thousand arm parties and countless questioning glances from the opposite sex. Last week at Holt Renfrew on Bloor in Toronto, The Man Repeller Leandra Medine drew a crowd of fashionable ladies and gents for the exclusive Canadian book launch of Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls.

In a white Dries Van Noten shirt, men’s cuffed jeans from Uniqlo, red Valentino shoes and an assortment of gold accessories, the wildly popular fashion blogger joined FASHION Magazine online editor Randi Bergman for a Q&A on her new book before meeting with eager Repeller fans and signing their copies of her new style memoir.

Along with the purchase of Medine’s first book, fans received a bottle of the limited edition OPI Man Repeller shade. No big deal, the girl’s got a nail polish named after her humorous blog about serious fashion. So what does it mean to man repel? Medine says it’s when you’re confident enough to dress yourself however you want, even if that means gravitating towards clothing and trends men generally don’t find attractive.

More and more she says she’s choosing to dress more simply, and at the moment her biggest fashion inspiration is being borrowed from the boys with menswear lines such as J.Crew and Mr. Porter. After meeting with the quirky blogger Thursday we’re excited to jump right in and get to reading the book, especially Medine’s favourite chapters “The Maxi Skirt” and “The Ostrich Skin Clutch.”  Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls is now on sale.
