When was the last time something just wasn’t a fit?
Paul and I are planning to move out of our open concept loft next month because as cool as it was – it’s just not a fit. I think we both loved the idea of a big airy loft in theory, but I’m a night owl and Paul is an early riser and our space has no bedroom door.
So when he’s cranking out smoothies at 7 AM, I just went to bed a few hours ago having spent the night plugging away on a new blog post. Our kitchen is next to our bedroom and our bedroom is next to our front door. Which means our guests walk right past my usually messy unmade bed topped with unfolded laundry to get into our apartment.
Our current layout obviously wasn’t working.
Additionally, what no one tells you about living in an open concept space is that you are looking at all your stuff ALL the time. We have two closets jammed full of our coats, shoes, linens, towels, clothes, and possibly a snowboard.
I am a super minimalist and there’s nowhere to hide our stuff. So if you’re thinking of living in an open concept – this is something you should definitely know!
Needless to say, we need a bedroom door, more closets and a more traditional division of space. So we are packing our bags for a smaller condo and a DOOR next month. The bonus part is that our new place is way less in rent and in a super walkable neighbourhood.
What did I learn from all of this?
When something isn’t a fit, you have the power to make a change. We don’t need to settle or compensate for something that just hasn’t been working for us.
With this in mind, I’ve partnered up with Always to share their new sizing system, Always My Fit.
Did you know that 60% of women are wearing the wrong size pad? More than half of the women surveyed say they check their pad every one to two hours and nearly half wear a heavier flow or longer pad.
That ends up being a lot of time spent being uncomfortable or going to the bathroom!
I know periods are no-fun thing to think about – I try to forget about it as soon as it’s done. But since it’s something all of us women need to deal with every month – I thought it was definitely worth mentioning!
Always pads are now numerically sized 1 through 5 so you can find the best protection and coverage – because who has time to deal with a leak? The better a pad fits, the better it protects. I usually keep different pads on hand, for day or night, or depending on my flow, as one size does not fit all.
If your current size isn’t working for you, take a look at the easy to read Always My Fit sizing chart on the top of your pad package so you can get on with your busy life. I’ve done it and it makes a huge difference and it’s one less thing to worry about – because it’s all about finding your fit. Always will give you a size based on your flow and panty size.
Couldn’t be easier!
