I travel a lot. So I swear by a handful of travel apps.

There was one year where I was physically away from my apartment for almost 12 weeks – traveling. Whether you’re a travel pro or just someone who takes the occasional trip, you want to make sure you have the BEST time possible.

Whenever I travel, I like to live like a local and avoid anything super touristy. I have a couple apps that I swear by when I’m visiting a new destination. It’s always fun surprising Paul, my friends and my family with a really cool spot. They’re always asking – how did you find this place?

Fall is finally here!

Which means it’s a great time to head out to the Oregon coast. You’ll find that things have slowed down and there aren’t as many tourists as there are in the summer months. Paul, BINGO and I made our very first trip to Seaside, Oregon earlier this year and had a chance to check out the newly-renovated Ashore Hotel.

The Ashore Hotel is an awesome retro motel that went through A LOT of modern upgrades to make this a hip little outpost by the sea. We loved it because it was dog-friendly and we could have our pup with us. BINGO loves the beach, so it would super made if he didn’t get to come along with us. (more…)

sunriver-resort

We had a fun little family adventure to Sunriver Resort earlier this month! What was supposed to be a getaway for Paul and I, turned into BINGO tagging along because we couldn’t find anyone to take him on Labour Day weekend. Luckily, Sunriver Resort had dog-friendly rooms and I could add him to our reservation for $75 for our entire stay. Here’s what we got up to: (more…)

Thinking of coming to Portland? One of the number one must-dos on a trip to Portland is a quick little day trip out to Multnomah Falls. There is just so much natural beauty in Oregon and this quick and easy day trip out of the city is a great way to see one of the crown gems.

Paul and I like to get out there as early in the morning as possible to beat all the tour buses and crowds. In this case it’s true – the early bird actually does get the worm! (more…)
